Marilyn Allin has always been passionate about natural products, primarily because of how they helped her with her health crisis.

And Marilyn says she always felt compelled to share her passion with people. After completing her studies in Ontario, she began looking for opportunities in British Columbia.

“I’d always wanted to operate my own business, so I went on the internet looking for health and wellness businesses for sale in B.C.”

“The first business that popped up was River Valley Health Products in Quesnel.

“It was exactly where I wanted to be; I knew the owner and the community.”

Marilyn had lived and worked in Quesnel before pursuing her health-and-wellness education and immediately began investigating the possibility of taking over the business.

As a registered nutritionist since 2006, she knew a store-front business would give her the outlet to help people with their wellness issues.

“I always wanted to own my own business. I was ecstatic about opening my business and using my education to help people.”

Green Tree Health and Wellness opened its doors in 2008 and Marilyn says she is where she was meant to be.

“As I faced challenges, I addressed them and a host of good friends and business associates helped me expand my contacts.

“Quesnel has been wonderful, and running my own business has been an amazing journey.

“I’ve grown so much. I started with one staff and now I have five staff members.”

Marilyn has also added the services of several alternative practitioners, including Andrew Eberding, a naturopath from the Lower Mainland who comes up to Green Tree regularly.

Green Tree Health and Wellness is holding its 10th Anniversary Sale on Feb. 8, 9 and 10.

This is Marilyn’s chance to thank all her valued customers and offer a special thank-you to the community that has been so open, welcoming and generous.

“Quesnel is a compassionate community and I see that in many ways.

“I have great staff, a great community and I appreciate people who recognize our integrity. I still love what I do and I live the lifestyle.”

To show her appreciation, Marilyn has a lot of draws and giveaways planned for the anniversary celebration, as well as product representatives on hand with additional giveaways.

Green Tree Health and Wellness will also have in-house specials, discounts, reductions and many, many sales.

“My customers are the heart of my business.”
