Xavier Cannon, 16, was drafted to the Western Hockey League (WHL) this year by Kennewick, Washington team Tri-City Americans. He played hockey in Kamloops for a few years prior to being drafted. Cannon is home in Quesnel for a spell before he attends Tri-City’s rookie camp.

The 16-year-old, at 6’4” and 207 pounds, dominated the net during his ice time last week at Quesnel’s arena. He’ll travel south to Washington to begin training in September.
