CNC Quesnel’s Industry Training Centre continues to expand its support for local industry expertise with two new training certifications.

We have received certification through Ives &Associates to provide students with Scissor Lift, Aerial Boom Lift, and Class 7 Rough Terrain Forklift &Tele handler Operator training.

Also, OFA level 2 and 3 certificate holders can take the new Minor Wound Care course, an opportunity to keep their skills current. First aiders can practice and receive instruction for minor wound treatments for scenarios that may arise on the job. The 8-hour course will be hands-on and physically demanding.

The Minor Wound Care course has been developed through the British Columbia Forestry Manufacturing Advisory Group (MAG). Forest industry employers are working to establish a process of continual safety improvement across the BC forestry manufacturing industry. These efforts strive to produce an environment free of injuries, incidents and near-miss events.

Scissor Lift and Aerial Boom Lift training will take place the last week of October. The Class 7 Rough Terrain Forklift course will be mid- November. These courses are taught at CNC’s Industry Training Centre (in the Helen Dixon Centre), downtown Quesnel.
