Imagine walking out to your car after a morning shopping trip and finding it engulfed in flames.
That’s exactly what happened to a Quesnel resident this morning in the Walmart parking lot.
Bart Schneider is the duty officer with the Quesnel Fire Department, and said they were called to the fire just after 7:30 a.m.
“We had a fairly quick knockdown, with some minor difficulties getting into the engine compartment,” he said. “We manged to prevent the fire from extending farther than what had already happened.”
Schneider said the car is a complete write off and there was some damage to a cart return which was right next to it, but no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
