Cody Aubrey Lorntsen, a former Quesnel resident, was arrested Nov. 1 after Prince George RCMP put out a warrant for his arrest on Oct. 23.

An RCMP press release sent out Nov. 2 said Lorntsen was located on Roddis Drive in Quesnel on Wednesday morning.

The warrant for Lorntsen’s arrest after an incident on Oct. 22 at approximately 3 a.m. Prince George RCMP received multiple reports of shots fired on the 2000 block of Tamarack Street.

Police officers attending the scene found a dead dog in the driveway and evidence of gun shots both inside and outside a residence on that block.

Evidence gathered during this investigation has led RCMP to believe that two individuals exchanged gunfire outside the residence. Those two individuals are believed to be Lorntsen and 20-year-old Michael Cambell-Alexander. Campbell-Alexander was arrested last week and remains in custody.

Campbell-Alexander has been charged with attempted murder, unlawfully killing an animal, unlawfully possessing a prohibited loaded firearm, careless use of firearm and discharging a pistol with intent.

Lorntsen, 31, has been charged with discharge of a firearm with intent, possession of a firearm while prohibited, mischief under $5,000, failure to comply with probation, and failure to comply with undertaking.

Prince George RCMP said Lorntsen was arrested without incident and remains in custody. He will appear in court in Prince George today.
