Small businesses to receive $1,500 relief during wildfire situation

On Tuesday Aug. 14, Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General Mike Farnworth and Parliamentary Secretary for Emergency Preparedness Jennifer Rice met with members of Quesnel Chamber of Commerce, where they discussed the impact the current wildfires are having on small businesses in the Quesnel area.

Farnworth said for small businesses that qualify, B.C. Government funds from the $100 million put into the hands of the Red Cross for distribution are already flowing, with businesses receiving $1,500 each. They are currently working on phase two of the assistance plan, during which heavily affected industry sectors will receive more funds.
