According to today’s (Jan.21) 6 p.m. update of the BC Hydro outages website (www.bchydro.com/outages), there are three areas in and around Quesnel where people are in the dark due to the wind event that passed through the province.

According to the the website, all three have five or fewer houses involved in the outage.

The power went out on the 1400 block of Dragon Lake Road, due to a tree being down across the wires, since 8:18 a.m. A crew was en route and expected to arrive by 6 p.m.

Power has been off in the 4000 block of Bluestone Road since 12:48 p.m. The cause of the outage is still under investigation and a Hydro crew was expected to arrive at 6:30 p.m.

People on the 400 block of Cameron Road have been without power since 5:59 p.m. The cause is unknown but a crew has been assigned.

BC Hydro crews and contract workers will be working to get the power back on as soon as possible, according to the website.
