Dainis was involved in the sports of: Hang gliding, Skiing, Speed Skating, Cycling, XC Skiing, and Running. He has many life long friends from various pursuits. He was born in Williams Lake, raised in Quesnel, worked in Grande Prairie, Hinton, Victoria, Calgary, Vancouver, and the Okanagan as a telephone technician. He enjoyed music, and dabbled with the guitar, ukulele, mandolin, and he loved to sing.

He was very compassionate and was able to make anyone smile with a corky sense of humour. He had a way with people and animals, the love and respect being mutual. He was able to put his family and friends first no matter the situation and will always be remembered as a great person that left this world far to early.

Prayers will be held at St James Catholic Church, Vernon, on Friday Jan23th at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Saturday, Jan24th. A Celebration of Life to be held April 11th @ Fintry Delta, details to follow.
