Dale Peter Yaffe died peacefully at home in his favourite chair overlooking Bouchie Lake on July 9, 2016, after an 18 month battle with colon cancer.
We are so grateful to Dr. Stefanie Green for making the long journey here from Victoria to assist in Pete’s last wish to die at home. We’d also like to thank Dr. Obanye for his compassionate care, Dr. Jacobsohn, Dr. Grapes, and all the nursing staff.
Pete was born in Gimli, Manitoba on Oct 3, 1954, several minutes after his sister Suzie, surprising his parents who weren’t expecting twins. He grew up in Vancouver and Coquitlam, then moved to Quesnel in 1972. Pete will be missed by his wife Barb, sons Danny (Christine); David; grandchildren Deagan and Denai; sisters Lynne and Jan, brothers Dave and Steve. Pete was predeceased by his parents Joan & Lou, and sister Suzie.
No service by request. Donations may be made to the SPCA in lieu of flowers.
A celebration will be held at a later date.
