A gentle and caring father and a doting grandfather. His greatest loves were his wife Marie

(Laflamme) Houston who passed in 1996, and his four children: Cindy, Wesley, Laurie (Peter Rippon) and Sherry (Ray Jasper), his Grandchildren: Mandy, Carmen, Dana, Jamie, Jordan, Lee, Sarah, Tyler and Millar. His Greatgrandchildren: Braeden, Quinn, Jaeden, Christian, Bauer, Aspen, Brooklyn, and Ben. And of course the love of his life these past years, Barb Hughes.

Dale was a loving son and brother. He was predeceased by his parents Ruby & James Houston, and his sister, Marion (Gavin Shuttleworth), and brother’s ; Floyd (Alice), Jim (Dorothy) and Gordon.

Dad was a generous man who was very giving and who valued his friendships.Among his passions were fishing and hunting. These passions he shared and passed onto his son, daughters and grandchildren. He spent every Summer for the past twenty years, returning to his roots in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, to camp and fish at the family cabin at Gregg Lake.

He loved a good game of cards , and never shied away from a game for “double or nothing”. There wasn’t anything that gave Dad more pleasure than sitting and telling stories of “back in the day”. He and his brother Floyd and Brother-in-law

Ralph Beaudry came to the Quesnel area in the early 50’s.

Oh the stories he would tell of those three Amigos.

Right to the end he was still sharing his tales of their antics from Buckridge to Wingdam. He had some great tales and loved nothing better than to share them with his Grandchildren.


Life’s journey is not to arrive at the grave safely, in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting “Holy Shit, what a ride”

He will be sadly missed.
