It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother Dorothy Leslie on Monday, March 2, 2009. Born Dorothy Phyllis Freeman, November 12, 1923 in Palmer, Saskatchewan, she is survived by her partner John Kohanko of Quesnel, BC, and five children: Phyllis (Peter, deceased) Lamers, Kathleen (Stephen) Elliman, Allan (Lynn) Leslie, Carol (Don, deceased) Davis, and John (Caren) Leslie, 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by three sisters, Millie (Bill) Thomson, Joan Scott, Kathleen (Jim, dec.) Currie, and six brothers, John (Joyce, dec.), Jim (Judy), Ron (Verona), David (Marilyn), Keith and Philip (Luiza) Freeman. She is predeceased by five infants, husbands Allan S. Leslie, James Hadcock, and two brothers George (Norma) and Charles Stuart Freeman. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered for her beautiful, lively spirit, impish sense of humour, huge family gatherings, love of music and pets, and her many creative talents. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to BC Children’s Hospital, Vancouver, where Dorothy dreamt of visiting and reading to sick children. Viewing 5-8 pm, March 12 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Burnaby, with funeral at noon, March 13, St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Burnaby, B.C.

For family and friends in Quesnel, a reception will be held on March 22 at 2:00 pm, at the home of John Kohanko, 2050 Spruce Ridge Rd., Quesnel, B.C.
