Edward was born in Grahamdale, Manitoba. He attended school in Dugald, Manitoba. After graduating, Edward worked as a dairy farmer before moving with wife Hazel and daughter Janice to BC.


Edward spent his time cowboying on the Big Sky Ranch in the Chilcotin. In 1953, moved to the Udy Creek Ranch in Nazko where he worked cattle ranching, trapping and big game guiding. In 1955, son Wayne was born, followed by daughter Colleen in 1956 and son Ray in 1959. Between 1964 and 1965, Edward built a new house.


Retiring in the mid 80’s, Edward left the ranch and lived in the Quesnel area for the rest of his life.


Edward is survived by his loving wife Hazel of 62 years, daughter Janice (Fred) Magnuson, son Wayne (Lil) Piltz, daughter Colleen Piltz, son Ray (Chris) Piltz, 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.


Cremation, family only service by request. Interment in Nazko plot on May 16, 2009. Family and friends. Donations in Ed’s memory to the Palliative Care would be greatly appreciated.
