Ivy Cole passed away suddenly on March 30, 2009 at GR Baker Hospital.

Ivy was born in Tetbury, England on October 26, 1919. Ivy grew up and was married in England and moved to Canada soon after the Second World War.

Ivy lived in a number of areas, including the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, the Queen Charlotte Islands and the Peace River area before settling in Quesnel after the death of her beloved husband Tom in 1978. Ivy soon fell in love with Quesnel and its friendly people.

Ivy enjoyed time spent with her son and family and joined in their many activities, especially the grandchildren’s sporting ventures (hockey, baseball, soccer, etc...)

Ivy joined the GR Baker Ladies Hospital Auxilliary in 1984 where she volunteered her time and made many lasting friendships.

Ivy will be greatly missed by her son Gordon (Sandy), her sister Joyce (Ted) Waring of Vancouver, as well as her beloved grandchildren Greg (Renee), Maple Ridge and Bill (Stacey), Kersley, her great grandchildren, Tony, Tanner, Cody, Daniel, Shelby, Tiahna and Zak, her niece Gail (Gerry) Van Leeuwen and family of Vancouver as well as her many relatives in England.

A Celebration of Life was held at the Anglican Church on April 8, 2009 with Father Mark Moote officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations were made to the GR Baker Hospital Auxilliary or the Quesnel SPCA.

The family would like to thank Father Mark Moote, Clayton’s Funeral Home, the Anglican Church Women for providing the tea following the service and the GR Baker Hospital Nurses for assisting and making Ivy as comfortable as possible during her time in hospital.

Lastly, thank you to the many family and friends for your kind words and support during this difficult time. We greatly appreciate the love and support you all have given.
