Beloved son of Margaret and Angus Smith. Survived by his loving mother, Margaret, and sister, Marion Vennard (Mark) of Penticton, grandmother June Ferguson of Victoria, nephew Geoffrey, and aunts and uncles.
Predeceased by his father, Angus, in 2011.
John was born in Quesnel, spent several years at Tranquille, Kamloops, and returned home to Quesnel. He lived in a home shared with his friend, Clayton. Over the years, he had many wonderful caregivers, among them Dennis Beeman, Linda and Ray Wesselink, and currently Nenita and Darwin Willison.
John had a happy disposition. A gentle giant, he loved people, time outdoors, swimming, food ... especially mom’s baking ... and working at Prima.
John passed away following cancer surgery.
