Joyce passed away peacefully on Dec. 28, 2009 after suffering a stroke in the summer. She passed away in her sleep with her husband Tom at her side.

Joyce was born in Nelson April 25 1924 to father Archie Bremner and mother Hilma. Her mother was from Sweden and her father from Ontario. After serving in the Air Force she went to Normal School and came to McCallister to teach in a one-room school in 1946. She taught school in and around Quesnel until 1968.

Joyce and Tom had been married for 60 years on April 12, 2009. They had shared many adventures together.

Joyce loved to dance, enjoyed her hobbies sewing and painting. She enjoyed making clothes for her daughter Judy and herself. She loved her home overlooking Dragon Lake, which she designed herself and spent hours and days refurbishing antique furniture for it.

Joyce never spoke a bad word about anyone, was loved by all and was a private person. She will always be remembered for her quiet and polite manner.

The family would like to thank the staff at Baker Lodge, the palliative care volunteers, the Clayton Funeral staff, Joyce’s family, extended family and friends for their support during these troubled times.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Quesnel Cancer Society and Quesnel Palliative Care.
