Leonard Frank Ecker was born on July 31, 1938 in Loon Lake Saskatchewan to proud parents Joseph and Anna Ecker. Leonard spent the first 15 years of his life growing up on the farm in Saskatchewan, he attended Horsehead School , but his destiny was to move to BC and be the anchor of our family. Leonard loved working in the logging industry, puttering around on equipment was his favourite pastime aside from “shootin the breeze” and telling tales of days gone by; he had an uncanny memory of where his many treasures came from and nothing gave him more pleasure than sharing his passions with others. Leonard loved life, fast cars, heavy equipment, hunting and fishing, and truth be told had a little gold fever; but most of all he loved and cherished time spent with his family. Leonard is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Anna, and sisters Theresa and Mary; and is survived by his siblings, Albert, Josephine, Jeanette, Joseph, John (Jocelyn), his partner of many years, Arma, kids, Wade (Daniela), Kim, Troy (Jennifer) grandchildren Christopher, Jerry (Tawny), Kassy (Marty), Kyle, Curtis, Kalen (Nadine), Jessie, Brittney, Rachel, great grandchildren, Kaiya, Hailey, Brooke, Daxton, Ashlyn and one on the way. Leonard was a son, brother, partner, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, and friend; he was and always will be forever in our hearts. Leonard passed away at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver on September 25, 2016.
