It is with saddened hearts, that the family of Louise Delehay, announce her passing at the UNBC Hospital in Prince George, BC. on November 22, 2009. Louise, aged 78 years, was lovingly surrounded by her family.

Louise Delehay was born in Morden, Manitoba on January 23, 1931. Louise was the third born child to Harry and Esther Martindale. A farm in Clemenceau, Sask. was her home. The Martindale brothers and sisters loved to dance. A fond memory was going to dances by horse and caboose or horse and tobaggan. In her teen years she moved to Melfort, Sask. for employment. She often spoke of the Neighbour and Robson families who quickly made her part of their families, as she helped with the children and house chores. Louise began a career as a Nurse’s Aid while living in Melfort.

In 1956, Louise and her daughters travelled by train to Quesnel, B.C. which was to be her lifelong home. Although various employment opportunities were experienced, working at G.R. Baker Memorial Hospital was her love. In later years, Louise was a dedicated 17 year volunteer with the Auxiliary to G.R. Baker Hospital.

Louise was a giving person, with a heart for helping others. She enjoyed camping, cooking, curling, dancing, gardening, knitting, playing cards, and especially reading. Louise treasured her life long friends, even her newest friends from Northstar Church hugged her when they met.

A family interment at Tranquility Gardens preceded a loving service at Northstar Baptist Church with Norm Botterill officiating. The eulogy was read by Dianne Greenwood and a tribute to Grams by Melynda Dubuc.
