It is with much sadness that the family of Mandy Thideman announce her peaceful passing on March 29, 2017. She was predeceased by her husband Norman, her parents John and Mathilda Hemrick, brothers Gordon and Irvin Hemrick, and sister Lilly Prodniuk. She is also predeceased by brother and sister in law Raymond and Elizabeth Thideman, brothers in law Kenny Thideman, Leonard Thideman, Larry Thideman and Alec German, and sisters in law Florence Schoepp and Laurie Thideman.

She is survived by her daughter Denice (Chris) Skeans, grandchildren Tara and Arlo, son Linden, grandchildren Christina and Chrystal, daughter Brenda (Terry) Tataryn, grandchildren Travis and Katy, and son Eldon as well as nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters in law Marjorie Reynolds and Ester German, brothers in law Harvey Schoepp and Dennis Thideman, brothers and sisters in law Lloyd and Linda Thideman and Allen and Ruth Thideman and many nieces and nephews.

Mandy was born in Preeceville, Saskatchewan. She and Norman were married in Preeceville in 1948 and her first three children were born there. They moved to Quesnel in 1956, added a fourth child to the family, and remained in Quesnel for the rest of their lives.

Mandy was an excellent cook and worked for many years cooking in Norman’s remote logging camps. She loved to crochet and grow vegetable and flower gardens. She had so many flowers in her yard that seeds spread into the cracks of the driveway and it became another beautiful garden.

Mandy was cremated on April 3, 2017, and will rest with her husband Norman at Quesnel Cemetery.

A graveside service will be held on May 17, 2017 at 2:00 pm. All those who would like to attend are welcome.
