It is with great sadness that the families of Michael Charles Standbridge announce his passing on May 29, 2009.

Mike was born in New Westminster, B.C. on September 14, 1948. The Standbridge family moved to Quesnel in 1950, and eventually settled in the Milburn Lake area. After his graduation from Quesnel Senior Secondary School, Mike worked for Overwaitea Food Store, West Fraser Sawmill, for himself as a truck driver, Allen’s Bakery, and for the City of Quesnel as a guard and clerk/dispatcher at the RCMP office. Mike also spent 20 years as an Auxiliary RCMP member. After his retirement in 2006, Mike spent his time enjoying his many hobbies with the Quesnel Rod & Gun Club, Quesnel Amateur Radio Group, and his photography.

Mike will be lovingly remembered by his wife Joyce, daughter Katherine Greenwood (Dustin), and his son Shawn. He is survived by his mother Phyllis Standbridge, sisters Phyllis Morgenstern (Ervin) and Pat Simpson (Wayne), and brothers Wayne (Linda), Paul (Louise), Kelly (Gerri), Terry (Clodine), Kevin (Sherry), and Stephen (Michelle), mother and father-in-law Joe and Irene Kopetski, brothers-in-law Elmer and David Kopetski, sisters-in-law Elaine & Mary Ann Kopetski, Judith McKenzie, Rosemarie Mckay (Stan), Janice Mclean (Gary), and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the nurses at G.R. Baker Hospital, the staff at Clayton’s Funeral Home, and the numerous family and friends for their generous help and support in our time of need. Special thanks goes out to the Quesnel RCMP for their support and incredible show of respect.
