Nettie Jane Durrell was born in Kersley on March 16, 1910 and passed away on January 1, 2009.

Nettie and her sister Cora and brothers Alex and John were raised by their parents on farms at Kersley and Dog Prairie.

Nettie attended elementary schools at Sisters Creek and Dragon Lake and high school in Quesnel.

In 1937 Nettie married RT Durrell and took up farming beside RT’s parent’s farm, 3 miles east of Dog Prairie. Nettie and RT have three sons Bob, Art and Reg.

Along with farming, Nettie helped RT with logging and sawmilling.

Nettie and RT sold the farm in 1972 and moved to Vernon for a short time and then returned to Quesnel where they lived on Marsh Drive and Larch Avenue until RT’s death on September 11, 2001. She then moved to Fraser Village and later to Dunrovin Park Lodge where she has lived up until now.

Nettie and RT loved to attend dances and socialize with relatives, friends and neighbours and would take long drives in the countryside visiting along the way. Nettie and RT loved to walk for pleasure and exercise.

Nettie is survived by her sons Bob, Art and Reg and daughters-in-law Judy, Sandy and Pat, grandson Jim and family as well as granddaughter Stacey and family, nephews Jim, Lloyd, Ron, Rick and Lannie.

Nettie will be missed by all.
