It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Murphy at his home at the age of 52.

One of five children, Terry was one of the first babies to be born in the new Quesnel, BC hospital. In his youth, Terry enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. One of Terry’s first jobs included being a sawyer at a small sawmill in Kersley. He then took up Boilermaking as a long term career. Throughout his 30 years in the field, he was a well respected and skilled boilermaker who enjoyed the challenges of working in management for the last 15 years.

For recreation, he enjoyed auto racing, especially the crash-to-pass events, doing mechanic work and generally fixing anything he could get his hands on. He was a bit of a “McIver” sort.

It was important for Terry to be helpful and kind to strangers and people in need. With a big heart and his resourcefulness, he did help many people out. Being independent and industrious, when he started a project, he was always determined to get it done.

He is survived by his mother Pearl, his son Tyler, his brothers, Tim (Karen), Dennis (Cathy), his sister Brenda (Rod) and 4 nieces and 1 nephew. Terry will be greatly missed by all.

No service will be held at the request of Terry. We will plan to have a Celebration of Life in the spring. Anyone wishing to donate in Terry’s memory, may do so to the BC Lung Cancer Society or to the charity of their choice.
