Editor,

Thank you to the community of Quesnel from the bottom of our hearts.

You stepped up to help a family in need.

Your huge donation to help my son, Darrin, with his care and help financially towards his seven-year-old son, Kellen, especially his special needs 12-year-old daughter, Bella, and his dear wife, Tammy.

Thank you to Jasime Traub for all your hard work and time you spent putting the “Courage for Darrin” together.

Thanks go to Thomas Cooper, Gramma Jean, all our family, friends and strangers for everything you have done.

Some of you may know Darrin from growing up in Quesnel and other people are just kind enough to help a family in need.

Diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in July, he had gone through chemo, radiation and two surgeries. On Nov. 12, Darrin suffered a Grand Mal seizure and has been in the intensive care unit ever since.

Our goal for him is to possibly spend one more Christmas with his kids.

In July, my son was given only months to live. As a mother this is heart-breaking.

I hope this Christmas you took the time with your loved ones, held them close, laughed with them, cherished every moment you had, and let them no how much you love them.

Because we never no how long we have with them.

Thank you so much Quesnel for your kind hearts and your prayers.

Judy Yusishen and family
