Team Century 21 is sitting at the top of Quesnel Curling Club’s sponsor league after five weeks of play.
Team Billy Barker Casino and Team Quesnel Lawncare take the second and third spots, with Team Child Development Centre, Team Service Electric, Team Sky-hi Scaffolding and Team Karin’s Deli completing the rankings.
The rankings came after Wednesday’s (Nov. 8) games. The top team had the bye while the remaining six played to win.
In Team Child Development Centre versus Team Sky-hi, the two seasoned sponsor league teams battled it out in a tense game that ended 6-4 to CDC.
Sky-hi had the chance for two in the eighth, but the team said a run in the ice spoiled the plan.
“The resident ice-maker was wise to leave the building before the team got off the ice,” they joked.

Quesnel Lawncare won 8-6 against Karin’s Deli. Team Lawncare took a four-point lead early in the game and Karin’s Deli fought back to overtake them in the sixth – only to give up three and lose in the final end to a steal.
And the Billy Barker squad came out guns blazing for the first four ends against Service Electric.
Service Electric managed to sneak back up the scoreboard, but Billy Barker shut them down, winning 8-4.
The fun will continue tonight at the Quesnel Curling Rink.
