In one of the best games so far this season, Bear and BCS traded punches all morning with the Candy Stripers landing the killing blow on the powerplay with only two seconds left to earn the 6-5 victory.

The usual suspects led the way for Bear as Colin “Clutch” Keis tucked in a pair as Justin “Time” Rasmussen completed his hat trick with the winner. Jeff “Needles” Needham found more luck on the ice than his playoff pool with his sixth of the season on a gift-wrapped opportunity after a weak clearing attempt from the man with the golden gloves.

Blue Collar showed more feistiness than usual as they fought back to tie it up at fives as Jordan “Dynomite” Johnson scored a pair and assisted on Wade “The Blade” Fenton’s first of two. Chipping in with a pair of points apiece was a trio not usually grouped together as “King” Richard Lindstrom and Dave “Chainsaw” McCulloch both earned two helpers with Kevin “Nightrider” Hesslegrave notching a singleton to go with an assist.

Meanwhile, in the West Fraser Barn on Barlow, Fraser River threw everything including the kitchen sink at Serenity and were rewarded with a 3-2 victory over the cellar dwellers.

The Chevy Crew were powered by their high-end performance models as Jason “Junior” Johnson matched his older brothers goal output with a pair as Jim “Souped-up” Sales dangled his way to two helpers. Continuing his fine play of late was Kris “Haymaker” Hayman who hammered a howitzer in for the winner to give him four goals in his last handful of games.

Thanks to the play of Richard Ward “Off Evil”, who is the leading candidate for rookie of the year, Serenity continues to have a chance in every game despite being outshot by at least 2-1.

A new recruit might ease the Builders offensive woes as Dan “The Thrill” Hills scored a beauty and Lee “Nitro” Naeth maintained his prosperous January as he has been involved in 66 per cent of his team’s goals since the New Year.
