It’s not very often the team with the worst goals against is in first place in any league, but when you score an average of 6 goals a game it can happen.

Bear continues to light it up on the big rink with this week’s 8-4 doubling of the Builders a fine example of what can happen when you have speed and passing burning at both ends.

Enjoying the extra ice time was Bears Cam “Shaft” Graham who notched four more goals into his graphite to go with a pair of assists. Recipients of his saucer-like passes were a couple of guys you don’t want to call on a long weekend as Brody “The Plumber” Neighbour and Rob “Sparky” Courturier both notched singletons.

Finally figuring out how to get his blades running smoothly was Jeff “Needles” Needham who used his blazing speed to score an unassisted beauty and his long reach to collect another.

Replying for Serenity, who have scored less than half what Bear has so far this season, was Matt “The Punisher” Powell with a pair as George “John, Ringo” Paul and Wade Price “Is right” sniped their second and third markers of the campaign.

Finally, being credited with an assist was the Builders much maligned Randy “Killer” Crofts who collected two helpers for good measure.

The other contest saw BCS continue to play Fraser River tough as the Silvicultists deflated the Chevy Crew in a 4-3 final.

The defeat was actually

Fraser River’s first in regulation as the teams battled to shoot-out ties in their first two encounters.

Leading BCS to the promised land was Darcy “Doctor” McGillivary who used his uncanny acceleration to score a pair as Chris “Crown” Royle tapped one in as | Jordan “Big J” Johnson’s first FHL tally was the winner.

Breaking what may be the longest goal drought in FHL history was Richard “Prince” George who had gone 86 games over a 1367-day timespan since he last found the twine on Feb 19, 2014.

Also scoring for Fraser River was Captain Ian Hannah “Montana” who collected two and remained calm despite two of his veterans drawing the rarely called solo roughing penalties.
