Bear continued its magical 2018 as their 5-4 victory over Fraser River maintains their perfect 5-0-0 record since the New Year.

The records are pretty sketchy, but the 5-0-0 January appears be the first time an FHL squad has done the Super Blue Blood Moon ever. It’s not often that the schedule makers have a chance to pen in five games in a month, so this record may stand for decades to come.

Leading his team to the promised land as well as moving into a tie for the scoring lead was Justin “Time” Rasmussen, who scored a goal and assisted on “Super” Dave Penners first ever FHL marker.

Firing one of his patented howitzers into the net for his first goal since Nov. 9, 2016 was “BIG” Bob Merta. Amazingly enough, 692 FHL goals had been celebrated since the last time “BIG” Bob threw his arms in the air to celebrate one of his own mesh ripplers!

Replying for Fraser River, who only managed one win in January, was Jason “Junior” Johnson, who notched a pair as “Jack” Russel Higdon scored his second of the year and Derek “Kamikaze” Kitamura fired a bullet from the point for his first of the season.

The other contest saw Serenity win their third in a row versus Blue Collar by a 3-1 final.

Winning three in a row against any team doesn’t happen often, but doing it when your record versus the remainder of the league is 1-13-1 is an anomaly that doesn’t quite make sense?

Leading his new team to the victory was Dan “The Thrill” Hills, who notched two more tallies in his Sherwood. Scoring the winner on a spinarama short side snipe was Lee “Nitro” Naeth as the Builders also had a sure goal disallowed thanks to a silent quick whistle.

Providing the only push back for BCS was Kevin “Nightrider” Hesslegrave who couldn’t quite get his teammates to ramp up their efforts in the losing cause.
