A one-pound, 15-ounce Kokanee took the top prize at the Second Annual 2018 Family Fun Fishing Derby at 10 Mile Lake on Feb. 25.
The derby, which took place in front of Lazy Daze campsite on the lake, brought avid fishermen and women to 10 Mile. Many children also got involved and the weather was fine for the Canadian winter pastime.
Ticket sales from the event went towards prizes for the largest fish, and the non-profit event was started to encourage families to get outside for a fun day with friends.
More than 100 people showed up to participate in the event, and organizers said it was a huge success.
