Kangaroos continue to lead CIHL standings after win against Stampeders

Roos won third straight game against Williams Lake on Saturday

The Quesnel Kangaroos won their home game against the Williams Lake Stampeders Saturday night, marking the team’s third straight win against the Stampeders.

The Roos currently sit at the top of the Central Interior Hockey League (CIHL).

On Saturday night, Nick Tomassetti scored twice in the first period, along with Alex Mackenzie. Williams Lake got one goal, and another in the second period, bringing the score to 3-2 going into period three.

Williams Lake was no match for the Roos on home turf, and Alessio Tomassettti and Paul Girodat each scored during the third period, bringing the final score to 5-2.

The Roos have a break from facing off against the Stampeders until Dec. 15.

They’ll next play a home game Dec. 2 against the Prince Rupert Rampage.
