The Quesnel and District Minor Hockey Association hosted a PeeWee house hockey tournament over the weekend (Nov. 25-26), with some teams attending from out of town to shore up the number of teams in the pool.

Teams from Prince George, Mackenzie and Williams Lake joined two teams from Quesnel to vie for first place at West Fraser Centre and Quesnel’s Rink 2.

The players, who are 11- and 12-years-old, skated their hearts out and displayed strong skills on the ice, with coaches and parents coming away proud of their young ones’ achievements.

In the end Prince George took first place honours. Second place went to Williams Lake, third to Quesnel Inwood Trucking and fourth to Quesnel Hello Promotions. Mackenzie’s two teams, Green and White, tied for fifth place.
