The 52nd Annual Mixed Bonspiel took place at the Quesnel Curling Rink on Feb. 9-11, bringing 20 teams to the ice.

The A event final came down to the Ray Blackmore rink versus the Alex Coffey rink, and Blackmore’s team managed an easy 7-2 win.

The Blackmore rink was up 6-2 after five, and the team stole one more in the sixth to take the game.

The B event featured Mary Ellison’s team against Rick Cindric and his teammates.

The Ellison rink was down 2-1 after three, but came back with five in the fourth for a 6-2 lead.

Cindric came back with three of his own in the fifth, but still trailed 6-5 after the fifth. Cindric then stole three more for an 8-6 lead, only to give up five in the seventh.

Ellison ran Cindric out of rocks and her rink took the game 11-8.

And in the C event, the Roger Kaleta rink took on the Tim Cawdell rink.

Kaleta’s team were early scorers, getting four in the first. Cawdell fought back to make it 4-3 after four, but Kaleta scored two more in the fifth for a 6-3 lead after five.

The Kaleta rink continued its scoring streak, winning the game 8-3.
