After getting off to a fantastic start for the 2011 Season, The Sunset Theatre offers up a full line up of shows over the next week.

Starting  July 16, 8 p.m., music lovers can come and enjoy the soul-stirring melodies and toe tapping grooves of Dana Marie Battaglia whose music promises to take you on an emotional roller coaster. Opening for Battaglia will be Sound Refuge who has been compared to Sufjan Stevens, Joel Plaskett and Sam Roberts.

July 18, 8 p.m., the hilarious Quesnel-grown comedian Matthew Quick spins his new tale, Seasonal, which promises to be a very funny look at the quirky world of seasonal work in History Town – a common thread for many in the Cariboo.

July 18 – July 22, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., a Youth Drama Intensive with Bas Rynsewyn and Dave Jeffery is offered. This is a week-long day camp covering all aspects of theatre. Class size is limited. Ages 7 to 17.

July 19 – 20, 8 p.m., The Sunset Cabaret offers a hilarious and eclectic line up of comedic sketches and music performed by the talented pool of local actors from Theatre Royal and Barkerville. This regular monthly offering is always a hit.

Sunset Theatre stages The Fred Wells Show, written and performed by James Douglas July 21, July 23 – July 24,  8 p.m. This popular original production returns with its stirring tale about the man who gave Wells its name. Following the July 23 performance, there will be a silent auction and fundraiser for the Wells Historic Society.
