On Feb. 7, Dayna Gray’s Grade 8 English class from QJS’s house four, visited the Aboriginal Culture Centre. As a culmination to a unit on Greek Mythology, Holli Garvin, Aboriginal Culture teacher, worked with students on Aboriginal Myths and Legends. Students were given a tour of the Aboriginal Culture Centre and the displays of different aspects of Aboriginal culture. Of note was a buffalo hide that was of great importance to the Aboriginal people. Students enjoyed learning about other perspectives on the stories of creation and our pasts.
