The Baker Creek Enhancement Society has moved to a new building and is inviting people to attend its grand reopening Monday (Feb. 17) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its new location, the former Lawn Bowling building at West Fraser Timber Park.
The organization started in 1994 when a small group of citizens made the choice to clean up Baker Creek. Car bodies, asphalt and more were removed from the creek, they have grown from just preserving the creek to supporting education and promoting restoration and preservation of local ecosystems.
Around 6,000 people visit the Nature Education and Resource Centre annually to learn about our ecosystems and how to protect them.
