Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) in Quesnel requires your support! Remember all those posts about where to donate used clothing etc? Well…your problem is solved.

March 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at West Fraser Timber Park, Big Brothers Big Sisters will have a trailer loading up the donations. An organization pays 13 cents a pound for used goods so let’s get 10,000-plus pounds there on Saturday.

The clothing bins and donations have been a major source of revenue ($24,00 to $30,000 a year) and with Covid 19 halting most fundraising efforts, BBBS finds themselves financially unable to meet their commitments. Due to COVID-19 and serious safety issues, BBBS bins are being removed from locations for an undetermined time. Usually, BBBS have “Bowl for Kids”, “Kate’s Big Wedding”, Golf for Kids, and the West Jet Raffle, along with the clothing bins, as our main fundraising events. Not so now! This ‘Drive’ has been organized to put much-needed funds back in the coffers and keep the doors open for the Bigs and Littles.

This first ‘Drive’ takes place on March 20…be sure to watch the media for our next ‘Drive’ in approximately 5 weeks.

And although “Clothing Drive’ is a misnomer, please be aware that clean bedding, linen, as well as adult and children’s clothing are totally acceptable. Comforters, quilts, baby clothes…you name it, we’ll take it!! Well, almost everything! We require clean, dry clothing and items. However, no children’s toys or soiled articles. Throw all the clean, dry articles in to a big bag (or more) and bring them on down to West Fraser Timber Park on Saturday, March 20 between 10 and 2. It goes without saying that all Covid protocols will be in place and you will be supporting a very worthy cause in Quesnel.
