It was a nice return to normal for the Quesnel Big Brothers Big Sisters of Quesnel, as they hosted one of their bigger annual fundraisers at Quesnel Golf Club on Saturday, June 5.

Over 80 golfers flooded the course, battling wind and rain to support the organization, as they were unable to hold one of their golf or bowling fundraisers in 2020 due to COVID-19 rules.

“COVID did take a hit with us,” new executive director Corbin Bright said. “Now things are easing up, we’re fortunate to be able to do this.”

The club was able to adapt and hold a clothing drive and raffle during the pandemic, but Brightwas relieved to see the return of their tentpole fundraisers.

“It’s nice to see everyone so open and supportive for what we stand for,” Bright said. “Supporting and empowering the children of Quesnel.”

It’s unknown if and when the bowl for kids’ sake event will take place in 2021.
