Let your literary creative juices start flowing.
The third annual Writing Contest, is sponsored
by Friends of the Library, Wordspinners, Literacy
Quesnel, Quesnel and District Community
Arts Council, B.C. Arts Council and the
Province of B.C.
This year’s topic is “Roots” in whatever incarnation
you, the writer, sees that subject.
There is only one entry per person and the
essay must be typed and no more than 500 words.
The contest is open to Quesnel and area residents
with two categories, youth, 12 – 18 and
adult, 19 – 110.
Registration forms, which contain the judging
criteria, are available for download from Quesnel
and District Community Arts Council website
or Facebook page, www.quesnelarts.ca or www.
quesnelchildrensconcert.ca.
You may also pick up a registration form at the
Arts and Recreation Centre or the Arts Council
Bulletin board, Quesnel Library, Visitor’s Centre
and Literacy Quesnel.
Deadline for entries is April 1, 2017.
If you email your entry, be sure you get confirmation
from Bernice Heinzelman that she
received it by phoning 250-747-1727 if you didn’t
receive confirmation by email.
Entries may also be dropped off at the front
desk at the Arts and Recreation Centre or mailed
to Community Arts Council Writing Contest,
500 North Star Road, Quesnel B.C., V2J 5P6.
Three winners will be selected in each category
and they will received their winnings at a special
event April 20, 7 p.m. in the Quesnel Library.
Refreshments will be served and the event is
open to the public.
