Cariboo-Prince George MP kicks off Quesnel 4-H sale, appeals for nomination signatures

Todd Doherty was preparing for an imminent federal election at the 4-H sale in Quesnel

The new multipurpose building at Alex Fraser park got to flex its muscles from Aug. 6 - 8. The park hosted the Quesnel and District 4-H sale, and hundreds of potential customers came to the event to check out the projects.

Andie Kishkan’s grand champion steer, Honky Tonk, sold for over $7,200. Bidders spent around $60,000 on projects by 4-H members from around the region.

Cariboo-Prince George MP Todd Doherty opened the sale on Aug. 8, even successfully bidding for a photo taken by Adrianna Seutter.

Doherty was also collecting nomination signatures. Speculation a federal election will be called shortly is rampant, and Doherty is preparing.

“I’m so proud of our young 4-H’ers and what they’ve done,” he said. “I’ve hosted a few of you guys in Ottawa, and I look forward to doing that after this imminent election.”
