Each year, Legion branches across the country celebrate Legion Week. This is a week-long celebration of what the Legion is all about and a chance for us to give back to our communities as a way of showing thanks for the support given throughout the past year.
This year’s activities begin on July 1, Canada Day, with a barbecue in front of Quesnel’s Legion branch at 262 Kinchant Street. The public is invited to enjoy a hotdog or burger between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. There is no fixed price, but the Legion asks that you make a small donation to help with costs.
While enjoying the barbecue, the public is encouraged to visit inside the Branch Open House, where they can ask questions about membership, hall rentals and the other services the Legion offers. We are quite proud of our lounge and kitchen as well as our displays of memorabilia honouring our country’s servicemen and women.
There will be a barbecue at Legion Beach on Dragon Lake on July 4 for first responders and their families from 4 p.m until 7 p.m.
