Family fun awaits at the Quesnel Fall Fair

Quesnel's Fall Fair, Sept. 21-22 will celebrate family fun

With summer winding down and fall underway, now is a great time for residents to take in the Quesnel Fall Fair, Sept. 21 – 22. From the vast array of arts and agriculture exhibits in the West Fraser Timber Room at the Arts and Rec Centre to cattle shows, rabbit and poultry exhibits, horse harnessing and driving demonstrations to an extensive vendor’s mall and a host of other fun activities, the Quesnel Fall Fair is truly a family affair. Bring the kids, grandparents, neighbours and friends for an entertaining two days at Alex Fraser Park. And all of this is free.

One of the fun attractions is the United Way Firetruck Pull, slated for Saturday at 11 am. It’s the ultimate tug of war challenge with teams of 10 people pitting their strength against one of Quesnel’s 27,000-pound firetrucks.

There’s still time to gather a team together and register at https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/startup.aspx?locationId=127174. A minimum registration fee is $250 but feel free to fundraise more. Registration deadline is Sept. 20. This event kicks off the 2013 United Way Campaign. For more information, contact Meghan, 1-250-561-1040, ext. 106.

There’s also still time to enter your prize-winning pumpkin, hand crafted item or gorgeous dahlia, as volunteers will be taking entries in the arts and agriculture division until Friday, Sept. 20.

While at the fair, be sure to take in some of the continuous entertainment; drop by the Early Learning Expo, Sept. 21, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., for free face-painting, a children’s obstacle course, sensory sand tables and much, much more.

With more and more events being added all the time, Quesnel Fall Fair will be jam packed with great things to do, see and experience.

See you at the fair.
