Sandy Koett and Audrey Craigmyle are keeping their fingers crossed that an annual fundraiser to help raise awareness on an unpredictable illness affecting vision, balance, memory and mobility will be held in-person this spring.
The two women live with multiple sclerosis (MS), and are both members of the Quesnel MS Self-Help Group that hold meetings on the first Friday of every month.
On Monday, March 21, at Spirit Square in downtown Quesnel, Craigmyle could be found helping Koett fight for a cure by accepting donations for the upcoming MS Walk.

“I’m hoping it will be in person,” Craigmyle said, noting the fundraiser will be entering its tenth year.
“We’re really hoping for the tenth walk to be a lot bigger.”
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Quesnel MS Walk was held via drive-by in West Fraser Timber Park last year.
The Quesnel MS Self Help Group is also itching to get back to business after meeting virtually over the winter months.
“We’re still here even though we’ve been virtual the last two years,” Koett said.
Koett will return to Spirit Square seeking further support next month.
The Coast-to-Coast MS Walk event is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 29.
