The Quesnel Women’s Resource Centre held an event in conjunction with the Quesnel Art Gallery on March 8, 2013 to celebrate International Women’s Day. The event was held at the Quesnel Art Gallery and included their March exhibit “Artimesians” which was named in honour of Artemesia Gentileschi, a woman painter during the Renaissance period. A film was shown titled, Pray the Devil Back to Hell. It chronicles the remarkable story of the courageous Liberian women came together to end a bloody civil war and bring peace to their shattered country. These women won the Nobel Peace Prize for their amazing work. There were approximately 90 people in attendance. The Quesnel Women’s Resource Centre would like to thank everyone who so generously sponsored this event.
