Lifetime Achievement Award recipient

Peter Couldwell is slated to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award April 18.

Peter Couldwell is receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award during the Volunteer Citizen of the Year ceremonies April 17, in the Legion hall.

With a lifetime of accomplishments, it’s not surprising he was chosen to receive this honour.

Couldwell served on City Council for 20 years and earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

However, it’s his contribution to the community in his capacity as a trained auctioneer where Peter’s efforts were really felt.

Almost 20 non-profit organizations benefited from his volunteer auctioneering with impressive multi-million dollar earnings for those groups.

He said yes to as many events as his schedule permitted (he is also an active rancher) auctioning desserts, art, livestock, benefits for needy community members and just about anything that crossed the block.

Now in his sunset years, Couldwell is taking time to rest, relax and enjoy the memories of such an admirable volunteer career.

Quesnel’s 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented at the gala event, April 17. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m. in the Legion Hall.

Tickets are $20 each at City Hall.
