Barlow Creek 4-H Club members left on a once-in-a-lifetime experience on Monday, July 2.
The club was awarded the trip as part of a 4-H Canada exchange program. Ten members have been paired with a club in North Simcoe, Ontario and will spend seven days touring. Members from the North Simcoe Club will be in British Columbia for the second half of the exchange, and will be able to partake in Quesnel’s Billy Barker Days celebrations.
“We are honoured to have been awarded this opportunity for our members,” says Cody Dillabough, the local 4-H leader who organized and planned the trip for the 4-H Club.
“I would like to thank 4-H Canada and the Government of Canada for sponsoring this amazing opportunity for our 4-H members. It truly is a trip of a lifetime for them.”
Members will tour around Ontario for seven days and will be visiting sites such as Niagara Falls, the CN Tower, Wasaga Beach and Canada’s Wonderland. When the 10 delegates from North Simcoe 4-H arrive in Quesnel July 19, they will participate in many of Quesnel’s activities for the Billy Barker Days festival, as well as visit Barkerville Historic Town, and Cottonwood Historic Site.
