Kathy Hutchings of Mama C’s Gifts ‘n’ Giggles on Reid Street holds up a cupcake for sale by donation. The proceeds of National Cupcake Day, Feb. 26, go to the BC SPCA, and Kathy said there had been many people coming in throughout the day looking for a sweet treat. The donation box at the shop was full of cash for the charity. Quesnel & District SPCA branch manager Colby O’Flynn said they have so far received $1,000 from cupcake sales, with a few more donations still to come in.
