Music sang out from Nazko’s elementary school and community hall on Saturday night, as local artists demonstrated their talent in the performance section of the The third annual Nazko Arts & Music Festival.

There were instrumental renditions from some talented young students, hoop dancing, an opera performance from local singer Morgan Fraser and some good old toe-tapping country songs, accompanied by guitar and drums.

Earlier in the day, around 15 artisans had displayed their wares in the rooms of the community hall, some selling their creations and others simply showcasing their talents. The youngest artist taking part in the event was six years old, and products ranged from beaded earrings to watercolour paintings, embroidered pillows and local honey.

More than 60 people attended the event on a wintery Saturday, many of them local but some travelling to the Nazko Valley from further afield.
