There’s a new 4-H Club in Quesnel and area.
This is the first year of operations for Forty Creek 4-H Club that is looking forward to the upcoming Quesnel and District 4-H Show and Sale scheduled to take place in early August.
“We used the “4 Mile Creek” as a theme as many of us are from the local 4-Mile community,” said Cody Dillabough, a club leader.
“We just wanted to branch out and incorporate some different projects, so we started a new club.”
Forty Creek 4-H currently has 13 members and six leaders.

One way to support the relatively new club is through the 4-H BC Gator Lottery.
The lottery supporting 4-H clubs across the province and 4-H BC has several prizes available, with the grand prize of a John Deere Gator utility vehicle. Tickets are available until noon Saturday, June 25.
“Funds from this fundraiser are going towards project assets for the kids,” Dillabough said.
“So things like grooming chutes, clippers, livestock dryers—everything they would need to work with their projects and get their projects ready for the show and sale in August.”
Forty Creek 4-H Club members are presently working on their communication skills, such as public speaking and demonstration that they will present next month.
