Counc. Laurey-Anne Roodenburg, left, carver Ken Sheen, Mayor Mary Sjostrom and Counc. John Brisco were on hand to unveil the new Billy Barker statue, right, at LeBourdais Park. The statue was designed by Williams Lake muralist and designer Dwayne Davis. Sheen is a Quesnel carver who also carved the new Quesnel sign at the Quesnel Airport, below. Both statues were carved from each half of a 600-year-old Western red cedar log. Billy weighes about 363 kg and took more than 200 hours to carve.
