No-profits receive grants

The Quesnel Community Foundation continues to be a major supporter of the area’s non-profit sector.  On April 9, $34,881 in grants was awarded to these organizations:

• $712.94 to the BC SPCA for fencing.  This grant was made possible by the Brian and Ann Rankin Family Fund.

• $5,000 to the BP Services Association for capital repairs and rehabilitation for Camp Puntchesakut.  This grant was made possible by the City of Quesnel Fund.

• $5,000 to the Quesnel Billy Barker Days Society for a tent.  This grant was made possible by the Community Endowment Fund.

•$1,136 to the Cariboo Hoofbeats Assisted Activity Program (CHAAPS) for the Cabalo Ensina project and instructor training, thanks to the City of Quesnel Fund.

• $3,000 to the Cariboo Ski Touring Club for its Youth Ski program.  This grant was made possible by the Community Endowment Fund.

• $1,350 to FARMED (North Cariboo Agricultural Marketing Association) for its  Junior Farmer program.  This grant was made possible by the Integris Credit Union Fund.

• $1,800 to the Parkland Community Association for a wheelchair-accessible picnic table.  This grant was made possible by the Community Endowment Fund.

• $4,420 to Quesnel Live Arts for sound equipment.  This grant was made possible by the West Fraser Mills Ltd. Fund.

• $3,000 to the Quesnel Women’s Resource Centre for the Quesnel Community Garden.  This grant was made possible by the

Glenn and Loretta Barr Family Fund.

• $1,000 to the Quesnel Figure Skating Club for practice mirrors.  This grant was made possible by the West Fraser Mills Ltd. Fund.

• $4,100 to the Waveriders Swim Club for touch pads and a starting system.  This grant was made possible by the City of Quesnel Fund.

• $1,962 to Quesnel Leisure Services for a tennis ball machine.  This grant was made possible by the Quesnel Tennis Club.

• $2,400 to Island Mountain Arts, from the Island Mountain Arts Fund, for scholarships.
