Big Brothers Big Sisters of Quesnel is busy planning their annual Bowl For Kids Sake on Sunday, April 17. The theme for it this year is Peace, Love, Rock’n Bowl.

The major sponsors are Central Mountain Air, VIA Rail Canada and the Wolf.  Lane sponsors to date are Dunkley Lumber, Quesnel & District Teachers’ Association, All West Glass, United Steelworkers Local 1-424, West Fraser Mills and Quesnel Toyota. Four more lane sponsors are needed.  Give Joanie a call to learn more about how you can contribute.

Other sponsors include Barkerville Historic Town, Vancouver Canucks, Vancouver Canadians Baseball, Vancouver Aquarium, Old Spaghetti Factory, Stanley Park Carriage Rides, Kumsheen River Rafting, Interior Whitewater Expeditions, and Best Western Abercorn Inn.  More teams are needed! You can register online at bigbrothersbigsistersofquesnel.ca and click on the Bowl for Kids Sake banner.

If you would like to participate, call Joanie to book your team for the hour-and-a-half session.

Co-workers, families and friends can

form five member teams, collect pledges and come out and bowl at Rev Bowling Lanes. Issue a challenge to another agency, business or friend and your team could win $500 worth of advertising sponsored by the Wolf radio station.

For every $100 collected in pledges per person (19 years and older), your name goes into the incentive draw.

If you are unable to play, you can still pledge or send a tax-deductible donation.  We served more than 130 children/youth in the community last year.

There are many children who would like a mentor.

The funds raised from this event help us sustain our mentoring programs.

Thank you to Hollywood Video, Robin’s Donuts, and Rev Bowling Lanes for participating in our pin up promotion.

This year, we are also piloting a Wii bowling session with Ms Heenan’s class at Lakeview Elementary School.

Upcoming Events

BIG night at the ‘Little Big House”, 368 Vaughan, on April 14, 5 – 7 p.m. This is an opportunity for all of our mentors to get together and share stories about their matches.

Anyone who is interested in learning more about our various programs is welcome to stop by.
