Power Pioneers award up for grabs

As high school students begin to apply for scholarships and bursaries to help with further educational goals, the B.C. Hydro Power Pioneers (retired B.C. Hydro employees association) are looking to receive applications for their $1,000 Community Service Award.

As high school students begin to apply for scholarships and bursaries to help with further educational goals, the B.C. Hydro Power Pioneers (retired B.C. Hydro employees association) are looking to receive applications for their $1,000 Community Service Award.

Each year the Power Pioneers present this award to deserving students around the province, including Quesnel.

Students applying have just a few simple rules to qualify. They must attend school full time and maintain a passing grade. They must be 18 years or younger.

The following information must be included to be considered for this award.

•Complete the application form (available at powerpioneers.com).

•One page essay of volunteer contributions to the community.

•Reference letters from community organizations.

•Reference letter from a teacher, counsellor or principal.

•Confirmation of passing grades.

•Proof of age.

Application packages must be postmarked no later than March 31. Send completed applications to BC Hydro Power Pioneers, 333 Dunsmuir Street, 15th floor, Vancouver, B.C. V6B 5R3.
